Validated High clarity images of the Retina on large format APS-C sensors

Light collection optics, sensor resolution and sensor size directly influences the ability of a retinal imaging device to provide high resolution images, especially in low light conditions. The use of a large format (1″) APS-C sensor with a 6 um pixel size, and 12 Mpx resolution, results in a high resolution image, validated to be at par with those from TOPCON TRC50Dx, and ZeissFF450 desktop imaging systems.

The Angio on Touch Device uses xenon flash for illuminating the retina for imaging, and not an LED light source. The high energy density of a Xenon Flash, made available within milliseconds of exposure, enables the delineation of even the tertiary vessels around the macula.

Traditional retinal imaging systems use solenoids and other moving parts to engage filters during the image acquisition process, resulting in their higher cost of maintenance. The use of pre-engaged emission filters, appropriately designed to eliminate background illumination, eliminates the need for any moving parts in the design for engaging filters, during the angiography process.
